Hi everyone,
Do you think you could spare a minute to skim over these sentences? I'm not sure if they're correct. Thank you so much.

The statute of limitation for some war crimes was shortened, but not in case of the Nazi crimes.

Some people were exempt (isn't it too formal?) from the military duty.

They gathered up in open space.

There was Titanic airing on TV. or Titanic just aired on TV.

I have to submit documents for reimbursement.
I have to submit documents for my expense claim.

Thank you. I actually tried to google 'in an open space' before I posted the question and a lot of example sentences came out without the indefinite article. That's why I changed it, but thanks for correcting it!! I also don't know why I wrote 'gather up' instead of 'gather'. I have to stop posting things at night haha.
