Can, please, someone explain me why in the following questions it is had heard and started.
My first options was 've heard and had started.

Thank you very much.

I finally met the girl who I ______ so much about.
Was hearing
had heard (right one)
've heard (My option)
heard

It's ten years since I_______ my job.
Started (right one)
was starting
had started (my option)
've stared
