Hello everyone,

I just find understanding this paragraph quite difficult. Any help?

I have just started a landing gear check and found a bit of a problem with some tyres. All the pressures on one of the wing blocks are well down.(What does that mean when all the pressures are well down??)

The strange thing is that they are down by exactly the same amount on every tyre on the block. (What does that mean when the tyres are down ?)

one person: are you sure the pressure gauge is working properly?
Another person: well, to be honest, you can tell just by looking at the tyres that they are down (what does she mean by that?)

Thanks in advance

They are discussing the air pressure in the tyres. The pressure is much lower than it should be. Well down = Much lower than they were, or should be.

  • They are discussing the air pressure in the tyres.
  • The pressure is much lower than it should be.
  • Well down = Much lower than they were, or should be.
  • You can tell just by looking at the tyres that they are down = the tyres can be seen to be low.
