Hello,
I've been wondering why some people would rather say 'He just went to the bathroom' instead of 'He's just gone to the bathroom.' (even though he's still there)

I know it's probably a silly question but it's been on my mind for a while.

Many, many speakers treat those sentences as equivalent in meaning regardless of whether 'he' is still there. Choose the one you prefer. CJ
