1) The face that I do not like your fiance is neither here nor there what matters is what you feel.

In the above sentence, according to my book, there should be ' what matters is that what you feel'.

I dont understand why 'that' is used here.

It is better without "that." You are right.

The fact that I do not like your fiance is neither here nor there; what matters is what you feel.
