I'm not very sure what was intended either. "Do the matching of the stickers" is a possibility I suppose, but it's pretty clunky. Perhaps simply "Match the stickers" is what is required.

It is as unnatural as the other one, If the verb has a direct object, then we are far more likely to use an imperative or a Let's construction that a Do the gerund,

Sweep the floor.
Lets sweep the floor.
Let's do the sweeping of the floor,

Match the stickers.
Do the matching of the stickers.
