Hi Emotion: smile when we say that a topic was not covered in literature, and that someone explains that topic in passing some of the mechanisms through which the organisation do so and so..... is the word "explain in passing" here correct to mean what I suggest, "only in very small parts"? Or does the expression here has a different meaning ?

Asil Ibrahim is the word "explain in passing" here correct to mean what I suggest, "only in very small parts"? I think that's a little 'off'. I would define 'in passing' as 'briefly while focussed on another topic'.
