Grammar

#1 I bought four dozen mangoes.

#2 I bought four dozens of mangoes.

#3 I bought four dozen of mangoes.

Which one is correct? And what if use "several" instead of "four"? does it change the rule?

If you enumerate the multiples of twelve, use the singular and no prepositon: "I bought four dozen (or several dozen) mangoes." If you don't, use the plural: "I bought dozens of mangoes."
