All the characters were in grief to loss their freedom. They knew that they could not do anything for their country. But, as Hamel told them that they could learn their language with effort. He wanted to tell them to Take heart ( to get courage) , if your present has been lost then future should be saved. So, he wrote "France. Alsace every where and wrote "France live long" on blackboard. He wanted to arise the feeling of love for his nation and country in the students and listeners. he was a true patriot and also wanted that all French people also became true patriots. All these things make the story, patriotic and story of national pride. Frenz who was representing all other boys of school , was in grief and was awared from the present situation of the nation and country. Basically this story is for new generation and school boys. Hamel thought that only French language was the key of freedom. it was totally right. it was their own language, in which the French people could establish their relations of culture, history and traditions betterly. They could understand easily to each other , in their talks, in French language. French language was needed for the national unity. All this helps us to understand the importance of our national language Urdu and English. IF we grow up the language which understand and speak in all over the country then our country will make progress fastly. Language should be expressive of the whole culture. English can be best of all. The structure of the story is usually ironic ,as all hopes of people including Hamel and elders of the village had died. Some days ago, they could never think about the loss of their national freedom.
