4. It was early autumn in 1985, and he had just got admission into the Chelsea College of art. It was a
5. big deal for his family and friends, neither of whom had been anywhere near the higher education.
6. He, on another hand, was smug and nonchalant.

7. But in a few weeks, he found himself sleeping on a dining table in a dank basement flat off the All
8. Saints Rd. For the first few months, he was homeless, living from a suitcase. It was the worst possible
9. start of a new life because instead of making impressions on his esteemed painting tutors, he was
10.flailing around, trying to gain a toehold in the city.
