Is this sentence correct. I never quitted?

Top answer

Anonymous I never quitted I would judge it to be correct only because my dictionary allows 'quitted' as an alternate version of the past tense of 'quit'. Nevertheless, I have never heard it used. For me, 'quit' is one of a handful of verbs in English which have the same form for all three parts of the verb: 'quit', 'quit', 'quit', so I would say 'never quit', not 'never quitted'.
