Grammar

1. Being late she was punished.

2. Having being a teacher she likes children.

3. Being a teacher she likes children.

These sentences are seems correct. But what if i change 1 sentence a little bit "Having being late she was punished". Does this change make sentence different from the original one?

What is the difference b/w 2 and 3 sentence?

Top answer

#2 is not correct. #1 and #3 are correct (though I would add some commas there). There's also a third option Having been a teacher, she likes children.

  • #2 is not correct.

  • There's also a third option Having been a teacher, she likes children.
  • This last sentence is more likely to be said if she's no longer a teacher.
