Having broken down, the driver sent the car to the garage.

In this sentence there is a subject mismatch. It looks like if the driver was broken down. So i correct it in two way.

"The car having broken down, the drive sent the car to garbage."
.
"Having broken down, the car was sent by the driver to the garage."

so which one is correct?

There's is a sentence in Cambridgde's manual "English Phrasal Verbs - Intermediate" (page12, section 4) "a breakdown vehicle [vehicle which helps drivers who have broken down"
