Anonymous Why do so many people pronounce the word PICTURE without the 'C" now ("pityoor")?They have probably heard it that way so often that they believe it's the correct pronunciation. Another example of dropping the 'C' in the 'CT' combination is heard in the pronunciation 'artic' for 'arctic'.
