Hi!

Does this sentence sound ok:

The absorption temperature is a key parameter for calculation of absoprtion enthalpy of an element on a golden surface and in drawing a conclusion on element's chemical inertness or activity. (= the temperature is a key parameter both for calculation of enthalpy and in drawing a conclusion).

Thanks

I would suggest: The absorption temperature is a key parameter in the calculation of the absorption enthalpy of an element ... and in the determination of an element's chemical inertness or activity. "golden" is not a very scientific word, so "on a gold surface" seems better, but I am unclear about the scope of this and where it should fit in the sentence.

Thank you! Agree on this one. I actually corrected the word to "gold" after I sent this question.Emotion: smile

And can I join adjective and verb together?
The element was found to be very volatile and to adsorb on a gold surface.

That's OK. I don't know quite what you mean by "join adjective and verb together" though.

Thanks!
What I meant was element was found to be volatile (adj) and to ...(verb).
I thought perhaps better to say something like ....volatile and another adjective (not a verb).

"be" is a verb too.
