Grammar

I just took the writing exam this morning. It requires me to write a cause-effect essay with a question:How do social networks affect people's life? My thesis statement is the social networks have an effect on your life, your study and your country. do you think this thesis statement is related to the above question? Does this statement have right grammar?

If a statement restates the question, of course it is related.
But your thesis seemed to answer the question "what do social network affect in people's lives?", not the question "how do social networks affect people's lives?"
