I just finished translating an abstract (from Spanish to English), and I'd like to make sure it's okay . Although letting me know if either it sounds natural or it's understandable will be enough, some advice on it will be, of course, much appreciated.

Abstract
The thesis presented here corresponds to a descriptive study of the social representations of father and fatherhood in the newspaper xxx. In light of the theories of social representations by xxxx, # newspaper articles were analyzed, assuming that studies found in mass media constitute an important element to the understanding of socially-built meanings.

The findings show the predominance of a positive image of father and fatherhood, depicting a figure of a loving, sensitive, present, accompanying and caring father, in contrast with that, more negative and disputable, of an absent and not-so-committed father. Furthermore, a number of meanings, both demonstrating the polysemic nature of the social representations explored and matching other studies, are mentioned. In the newspaper, the portrayal of fatherhood tends to be reduced to the acknowledgment of paternity, which is, unquestionably, a very important aspect to be a father.

The information used in this research was dissected through content analysis. The processual approach to social representations was used to address such analysis. The role of the newspaper in the dissemination of such representations was analyzed as well.
