"if a friend of mine had a personality conflict with a mutual acquaintance of ours and I thought t was important for them to get along,I would tell my friend that I felt he was partially responsible for any problems with this other person and try to let him know how the person was being affected by him." Is it in past form?
As I get confused with examples like "If I won, I would do this..." which is in present but with lesser possibility of happening of event.

"If I won, I would...." is the same.

"If I win, I will..." feels less hypothetical and more anticipating an actual possible future event.

thanks for the reply... but still not clear Does we always use the past tense to represent a hypothetical event? or any other methods are also possible?
