Are the bold words below correct?

The pace of modern life is fast, and most people have busy and demanding lives. So eating a balanced diet and doing physical activity can make a big difference to overall health. Regular physical activity is good for your whole body, from your brains to your bones. Yet many people do not get enough exercise. The good news is that it is easier than you may think to ?t physical activity into your day because you can do it at any time and almost anywhere. No matter what your age and stage of life, there are plenty of ways to take exercise. Your feet were made for walking, so use them when you get the chance. Walk around town. Ignore lifts and escalators and build up your leg muscles by climbing stairs. Next, get out and play. Kicking a ball about is fun, and it is also a great way to spend time together with a family. Finally, try doing two things at once! While you talk on the phone or watch television, stretch, lift weights or do household chores.

All the words in bold are correct. The only thing (not in bold) that strikes me as odd is "a great way to spend time together with a family" -- it sound like some random family. Saying "spend time with family" or "spend time with your family" would be more natural (with or without "together").

"Spend time together as a family" is correct and very common. Much more natural than "with a family." Sorry - I didn't notice that "with" was in bold the first time I read through the paragraph -- I thought it was part of the provided text, but it seemed very strange.

So I must use "as" instead of "with" ?

Yes. To do something "as a family" means that the whole family participates -- often the implication is that joining in the same activity brings the family members closer together.

"Everyone has separate activities all day long, but we always have dinner together as a family."

All are correct. And I agree with the other poster: "spend time with family."

Good luck!

But it's not "spend time with family" (which would be fine). It would be "spend time together with a family," which is just weird in this context.
