Hello everyone! I had trouble editing my own letter. I hope you could help me. I would be very thankful for that.
Dear Madam, Peace be with you! I am Jasmine Zoleta, Secondary school teacher Holy Child, Science Department. I just want to explain my side why I rated myself very satisfactory in my CB-Past despite the fact that I have five students with failing grades. First and foremost, I love my students and I want to be remembered by them as a teacher who made a difference in their lives and not the one who gave them a failing grade. Second, I know in myself that I’ve done my best just to save them. In fact, I gave them so many chances just to pass and if only they continue their schooling they will surely pass in my subject. And to make it clear, they are retain as second year because they failed in all subject. I am their adviser and they have no problem in my subject. Yes, they’re not as good as others are when it comes to academic since they belong to section 32 but they behave well in my subject. That’s why there are no reason for me to give them a failing grade. But the problem is, they always cut in other subject. I informed their parents from the very start when the problem was just arising. The two boys namely, Mark Jopel Mago and Jerwin Ranido stopped during the third grading period because Jerwin got a job and Jopel went to Laguna. And because I tried to convince them not to stop and waited for them to come back, I did not drop them. Sad to say they did not return to study. Their own parents couldn’t convince them too. The three girls who failed was always absent during the second grading period and if present, they cut in some subject. I try to contact their parents through cell phones but sad to say the contact number that they gave during the enrolment was not activated. And when I finally got the chance to meet their parents they told me that everyday they leave their home wearing their school uniform but they just hang-out together in Paraiso instead of going to school. And I, together with the guidance counselor and their parents, did our best to help them and to make them realize the importance of education in their lives. They continue their schooling but there are other factors that pulled them back from their wrong doings. Little by little they start disappearing again during the start of the third grading period. Their parents wants them to stop because of that but I convinced them again to give their daughters a chance. All they have to do is to comply with the requirements needed to pass like the attendance, projects, assignments, activities, and exams in all the subject area. After the third quarterly exam, the parents of these three students came to school again, had talked to their subject teachers about their grades and found out that they can pass in few subjects including mine but in others they might fail. This time their parents decided that they should stop because for them it will be much harder for their daughters if next school year they will be irregular at bungi-bungi ang kanilang schedules. I understand their point. And since they are firm in their decision, and they are the parents whom I believe knows what is best for their daughters, I let them do what they think is right. I feel sorry knowing that I failed in saving them but I have some other students whom like them has a problem and it makes me feel good knowing that I was able to help them. Thank you po Ma’am! I hope you understand my part but if you think I am not worthy enough for the rating Very Satisfactory, I will respect your decision. May the Almighty God bless you always! Respectfully yours, Jasmine. Zoleta
