Please explain what way of word combination is correct clean off smth. or clean from smth. Here is the sentence that I want to write: Prior to repairing of reinforced concrete structures it is required to clean the place of repair off/from dirt, grease, paint and other extraneous coatings, in order to bare the system of microcapillary and microcracks.
