I really could not understand what is negative of "he trips." can you explain more elaborate?

"He trips" is positive.
"He does not trip" is negative.

"He has eaten" is positive.
"He has not eaten" is negative.

he does trip - in what tense it would come under and why they use he "does" trip in stead of going plain he trips..sorry if annoying you...but still it is the time for me to clarify all my doubts
