For a private translation projekt I would like to know the meaning of this sentence:
"Surely you would not consider your Shapers Dalish despite them preserving the Memories..."
I don´t understand the meanin of shapers and despite in this special case. Dalish is a clan of elves. It is a part of a story, told in a dialogue.

Let me reword the sentence, putting in some hidden words and spelling out others:

"Surely you would not consider the Shapers to be Dalish, despite their having preserved the Memories."

I assume that "Shapers" are a branch of the Dalish (or are claiming to be).

Thank you very much. The Shapers are Dalish. The story is too long to describe every single term. The case of the story is the history of elves, loosing their home, culture and lore over centuries. It is a story from a game. I think that this is written by a british woman, because a lot words are written in traditional goog old english. I´m a little ashamed that my english lear
