Hi,everyone
What is the difference between "expressionist and expressionistic"?
Like in the example" Like Frank Gehry’s Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, which opened the following year, the Niteroi museum marked a surprising success for unrestrainedly expressionistic architecture"
AND
Using one basic material, plus daring structural engineering, Niemeyer turned poured concrete painted white into an expressionist masterpiece.
Thank you.

As far as I can tell, there is no difference. That "ic" on the end seems completely unnecessary, I'd say. CJ

Check out this link. It lists 15 dictionaries that have definitions of "expressionist".

All 15 have an entry for "expressionist" as an adjective and/or sentences where "expressionist" is used adjectivally.

CJ you may be correct. However, that same link also lists 15 dictionaries with "expressionistic" as an adjective, and even your "expressionist" link indicates uses as a noun, but expressionistic is never a noun.

I was trying to think of parallels and the only one I can think of similar is as follows:
expressionism .... expressionist .... expressionistic
nepotism...nepotist...nepo

I believe I did. This is what I wrote:

The others will have to speak for themselves.
