most fortunate, is it correct? Why not the most fortunate?

If you use the definite article, you need a noun:

This is the most fortunate thing (noun) that could have happened.

WillPitt.....You have regained consciousness; this is most fortunate. Is "most fortunate" is it correct? yes "most fortunate" means (very)(extremely) fortunate.
Why not the most fortunate? Because you are not comparing it to another fortunate thing.
