I don't get the meaning of ' to clean up after you' in this sentence ' don't expect your mother to clean up after you
all day'. Does it mean that the child cannot expect it's mother to clean up all the dirt it's made.
Can I say ' my sister cleans up after me ' and would it be correct
Please help...

Do not use "it" to refer to a child.

It's not just "dirt." Don't expect your mother to pick up your clothes, tidy up after you, put away your things.
