Hi
My kid is in class 1 he was taught singular to plural sentence conversions. I am a bit confused with the below can someone clarify with the meaning of sentence?

S-Singular P- Plural
1. S: This is an egg P: These are an egg. (What does this mean??)
2. S: That is an apple P: Those are an apple.
3. S: This is an umbrella P: These are an umbrella.
