Are books more important than experience?
In the first stage of our life we learn many new things from books. If anyone is interested in learning something, there are a lot of books which can be so helpful. After learning from books it is important to know how we should use the knowledge that we gain from books; Experience makes it possible. As far as I’m concerned, although books have an important role in gaining knowledge, experience illustrates the practical view of the knowledge that we obtained.

First and the foremost, there are a lot of evidences which show us experience is more important than books. According to the fact that Education provides some course for experiencing different things which the students learned before, the importance of experience will become known. For instance we have lab classes in schools for some lessons such as chemistry which help students to understand better things that they learn from books or to examine them in a real situation. Also we can notice to new educational programs which add courses that the student should work in a real company before graduating from universities.

There is also a more subtle reason that we must consider. There are a lot of lessons that need practical works. For instance consider that you want to learn how to drive a car. In my country it has some steps. First the students participate in some theoretical classes which make them familiar with a lot of things about driving a car and urban rules for it. But you can see that it is not integral. It needs a lot of experiences in urban areas to learn it. In other words, without experiencing no one can be a driver.

However, there are a lot of things that we’d better to learn through books. As a case in this point, if you are interested in knowing different cultures that are conventional in some parts of the world, it takes a lot of time and expenses to experience them and it could be more useful to read about them from books which are available. But we can’t mention that books and experiences are in the same level in effectiveness. In other words, experiences may become a lasting lesson that we’ve learned in our life.

In conclusion, although people should read books to gain knowledge in some aspects, experience is an important part of learning. No one can become a successful person without using his/her knowledge in a real situation.
