Would you please take a look over this sentence and answer my questions? I don't understand what the speaker meant. Telling off means sort of blaming and speak with slightly rough tongue, right? I don't understand "Wow, did she ever tell off her boyfriend!". Why did she say that?

"Wow, did she ever tell off her boyfriend! She was screaming and calling him names for ten minutes."

Thanks. Yes. But I didn't understand the surprise sentence. She means if she(second one) have told him off before, she would have been telling him off less? This sentence is a bit odd. Could you please explain it to me?
Why did she say this : "Wow, did she ever tell off her boyfriend!"

Wow, did she ever tell off her boyfriend!" = Wow, she certainly castigated her boyfriend!

Why "ever"?
eg His smell is awful. Have he ever bathed! (Is there any other verb for bath (verb) in US)

However, I think I found the answer. I didn't know another meaning of "ever" as emphasize adjective

(Cambridge) used for emphasizing an adjective

Was she ever a fast runner! (= She was a very fast runner!)
