Hello,

Could you tell me please if it is a mistake to use an apostrophe in this sentence?

"He was a friend of the Ennen's family instead of 'He was a friend of the Ennen family.'

And also in this sentence 'She was missing since January 5'. Isn't it a mistake to say ' she has been missing?'

Hi,
Please don't use things like "?" as the title to your threads, and please post your questions separately.

Yes, it is a mistake. He is a friend of the Ennens'. He is a friend of the Ennen family.

If she has been found, then "she was missing" is okay. If she is still missing, then use the present perfect.

Hello,

Thank you. I am sorry I won't use '?' anymore, but sometimes it is difficult to choose a title for your post. Do you mean that I should start each post with a new question? If so I apologize and I will act on your advice next time.

Yes, please do keep your unrelated questions separate. If you had had two questions about the use of apostrophes, keeping them together would be okay, but these were really unrelated. Thanks.
