I stick to my original, with the addition of constantly or regularly. "I think you constantly/regularly require one or more of the following; affection, money, attention, *** maybe, material goods, conversation etc. to maintain your normal state" Yes, it is normally required to describe equipment that regularly or constantly require service, parts or attention.
