Using 'am' by itself (Guest:Oberon)

Is it grammatically correct to use 'am' in a sentence if not followed by I - for example "I am good at singing and am an excelent cricket player"?

Sorry, it is not the best example, but I hope it clarifies what I am trying to say. "The book and we" are different subjects, that's why we need both subjects. Would you agree?
