Take a load of

I think ' take a load of ' something is to take a look at it, right ?

Well, one thing for sure, it must be entirely different from the ' take a load off ' that we have been discussing these days.

Let me make a sentence to see if it is correctly in use.

eg Wow, take a load of that girl, what a knockout !!! ( correct ??? )

What do you mean Hitch? It is not in the dict.

with Hitch, I think it's 'get a load of that girl', never heard of 'take a load of that girl'.
When somebody says 'get a load of that girl' it means 'hey, look at that girl'.

Yep, "a load" means "a lot of" in this case.

" Take a load of that girl " is a sentence of my own makingEmotion: smile. The original context I came across is " Wow, wait til the kids at schoo

In that case the sentence would mean:

"Wow, wait til the kids at school take a load of that "stuff" away."

But I think it may just have meant to read:

"Wow, wait til the kids at school get a load of that."
