Synchronic - synchrinicity or synchronisity?

Can anyone tell me whether synchronisity (synchronicity?) is the noun form of synchronic?
Who popularised the word? Jung, The Police, neither? Can anyone shed any light on this?
Thanks.

I checked in my dictionaries and I can't find synchronicity which makes me think Sting might have taken synchronize (verb), synchrony (noun), synchronous (adj) - (and there are lots more sync words) and made up his own word for the song. IMVHO.

may have preceeded Sting in using the word, but who knows?
Do you think it may possibly come from synchronic?
Cheers.

My shorter oed says that synchronic is rare, from 1833, so it is highly possible that Jung used and adapted the word to apply to his work. How exactly did he use it, do you know? Can you ask your student?

PS my name is geebeens, I know the g looks like a q when the names are underlined. LOL

It's a little cranky (strange) in Jungs hands:

Synchronicity is an explanatory principle; it explains "meaningful coincidences" such as a beetle flying into his room while a patient was describing a dream about a scarab. The scarab is an Egyptian symbol of rebirth, he noted. Therefore, the propitious moment of the flying beetle indicated that the transcendental meaning of both the scara
