I have read this sentence in one of my books: "Mary had John wash the car". I´ve always thought that this construction should be something like "Mary had John to wash the car".
Is this second way to write this sentence incorrect? If so, could anybody please explain why to me? I don´t see the difference.
Thanks beforehand
