  • 1- The accident involved two vehicles - focal point is on the accidents (active) Two vehicles were involved in the accidents - Focus is on the vehicles (passive) 2- Nick and John were caught fighting by the principle - focus was on Nick and John being caught (passive) The priciple caught Nick and John fighting - Focus is on the principle catching the fight(active) So, it depends on what the context is and what you try to depict, the voice is used accordingly.
