There was a huge debate many years back about the value of on-line learning, what are your thoughts now?

Hello hitchhiker, Irrespective of the medium of teaching, a lot depends on the quality/efficiency of the teaching material/educator/ID, and the learner's desire to learn and comfort level with new technologies. If I had a source that was simple to understand, all-inclusive, and brief then I would probably not resort to other mediums.

School environment for me. I find it fun and exciting. I like the feel of competition, it gives me tremendous drive and motivation.

You should learn languages by talking to a native speaker of the language using a microphone and video. If you think it is better to do tests and read books - don't waste your time because it will take you years to learn one language. I like the combination of traditional learning, and online learning.
I started going to an English school in my city. That was in Autumn 2006, September. That period I also discovered The Chat Page and started to chat with people. It was a fantastic experience.
