Essay & Composition Writing

In many countries, the governments like to spend more money on the arts. Some people agree with this. However, others think the government should spend more on health and education. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

It is widely concerned that the authorities tend to pay more attention to the arts instead of health and education. Some people are absolutely fine with it, but some are also against the governments' decision. This essay will support the second view and analyze both views later on.

To begin with, it is undeniable that many countries are eager to renovate and preserve their paintings and sculptures as art, presenting the cultural identity of the citizens. The act of protecting the arts leads to the culture and history of nations will eventually spread around the globe, attracting worldwide tourists. Moreover, spending more money on the arts means saving humanity. Even though people might be extinct in the far future, the arts will be the proof that humans were a great generation that Earth has ever had.

On the other hand, health and education are the two main factors of a stable community. This will raise the happiness index in their own countries as the governments can improve the infrastructure, technology that can be used in local hospitals and educational institutions. Alternatively, extracting government budget for the mentioned elements above is likely to reduce crime rates in some specific areas, making them safer and worthier to live as well as elevating the standard of living for local people.

In conclusion, although art is necessary for the presence of a nation, I think health and education should not be neglected because they are the citizens' needs first before considering any other factors.
