if that's all right / if it's all right

"I think I'll go back upstairs now, if that's all right."

Teachers, in the second clause, can I use "it" instead "that"? It seems okay to me to use "it" though.

Thanks for your answer, Mister Micawber. I've come across this type of expression a lot before and I noticed that most of them used "that" in their second clause. I wonder why it is.
