Hong Kongnes / hong konger

Is it correct to say I am Hong Kongnes and I am hong konger?

I think you can also say 'I'm a Hong Konger' (but not Hong Kongnes)

I have come to learn that there are distinct regional variations in how English is used, so perhaps somewhere you can "I am a Hong Konger" without have the person you are speaking with look at you strangely, but it wouldn't be in the US, or according to Nona, in England.
