could pls help me to edit my letter

could pls help me to edit my letter I would like to change my filed of study .I will be thankful if you could help me .

Dear Chris


As you might heard about me from my friend who was recently your student in academic writing.I would like to continue my studies in language, particularly in English.I graduated in bio engineering at the university of X-X .when I came to Belgium I was looking forward to study in field of my interest .honestly in my country we have to pass conquer that we cannot choose what we would like to study.the time when I was studying for conquer I didn't choose language because of who was weak student wanted to do that why I refused my own favourite study .

I would be very pleased to be given the opportunity to attend an interview.

There are a lot of things in this letter that you need to improve.

The main thing is that I don't know what this means is. in my country we have to pass conquer I don't think 'conquer' is the right word. Can you tell me again in another way?

Many thanks for your attention.

I meant in my country after secondary school we cannot go to university without taking an exam (that exam we call it conquer),and then it base on our score we can choose our field of study.at that time my score wasnot bad, due to I chose engineering now I realised it wasnot my interest filed of study after all .

Thanks alot for your help ,

I also changed her first name to her family name( because I havenot met her yet) .but in Belgium using the first name is noraml even for whom you donot know them, except for professors.
