Comparison of equality

I'm 49 and forgot some terminology. Could someone tell me what "comparison of equality" means? I could use an example. I think it means an analogy. I need to write a sample test item. Thanks. L

comparison of equality is used to show that two things, people are similar. There is no difference between the subject and the object. It can be used with adjectives, adverbs and nouns.
the rule: S + V + as + adjective + as + O
S + V + as + adverb + as + O
S + V + as + much / many + Noun + as + O

Eg: John is 16 years old. Peter is 16 years old.
