Catching Fish(Idiom?)

Is "Cathing Fish" and idiom in a case where you are saying,"The fishermen caught fish." I don't think it is because in the dictionary catch says "Trap or capture" and as a second meaning as "Receiving, snagging," that means that Catching a fish is trapping or capturing it.
