There is no adequate equivalent to that wonderful French verb se débrouiller. What you have stated is fine. You might also say "I can get along in English". [Je vais essayer de me débrouiller en français cet automne pendant un séjour de trois semaines à Paris.

You could say that (although "I'm finding my way..." would be better). I translate "debrouiller" as "to unravel," but in this context, you want to express that you're still learning the fine points of English. I think people would understand what you mean.
