' As ' can be used as a conjuction too.

' Like ' has a few uses

As a preposition, eg : Do not talk like that.

As a verb eg : Children like sweets.

Can I say "She likes the color like me/ like I do." instead of ...as I do?

When we talk about comparison between people, things or actions, we can use "as" or "like", depending on the structure.

"Like" is a preposition which should be followed by a noun or a pronoun.
Example: I'm not like my brother.

"As" is a conjunction which should be followed by a clause (subject + verb).
Example: He's a doctor, _as_ his father was.

You mean he is a doctor as Pieter. You mean both of you are doctors. Are the both of you speaking the truth?.

I'm not a doctor. I'm an engineer. Emotion: big smile

In the sentence "he is a doctor as Peter (is)" it is meant that both are doctors.

This has turned out a bit of an off-topic now. Emotion: smile

Raul, I still think " She likes the color as I do " the ' as' is a relative pronoun because the color is what is to emphasize. Or do you think both explanations are acceptable from different angles of definition ?
