Activities for Students

Are your students looking for a way to improve your English this summer while also experiencing life in the U.S.?

If your students are looking for opportunities to improve their English this summer, I wanted to share a couple of programs offered at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).

UNO’s Intensive English Program (IEP) focuses on building practical communication skills through project-based learning, helping students gain confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Beyond the classroom, students also engage with campus life and the local community, giving them real-world opportunities to practice English.

UNO also offers a Summer Institute on American Culture, a short-term program that combines English language development with an introduction to U.S. culture and society. Through interactive classes, site visits, and cultural activities, students explore topics like American history, daily life, and cultural values. It’s a great option for those looking for a more immersive cultural experience while continuing to improve their English.
