A record of achievement

Dear teachers,

An article talks about love and marriage in north America. As it mentions what women look for in a partner, it stresses the importance of a record of achievement.

What does "a record of achivement" denote? Please advise.

Hi, It seems to mean that the man should have a history of being successful. It doesn't specify what fields this success should be in. Best wishes, Clive
